Custard egg tart is my favorite dessert from my home country! You may find tons of chinese dessert in Hong Kong. If you pay your visit, from small bakeries to franchise ones, you will always spot custard egg tart. There are two types of shells. It is either in a crunchy fluffy shell or in a butter cookie shell. The egg custard is the spirit of the egg tart. Silky smooth egg custard is sweet but not too sugary, which brings out a hinge of the good egg smell.
Cannot fly to Hong Kong? If you are able to visit San Francisco Chinatown, go try the Golden Gate Bakery. It is a well known bakery open by the Cantonese that sells awesome egg custard tart. By the way, they uses the crunchy fluffy shell. Since they are famous, avoid the long lines if it is traveling season.

Egg puff (“gai daan jai” in Chinese, which literally translates to “little chicken eggs”) is definitely my favorite dessert from my home country, Hong Kong. It is made from eggs, sugar, flour, and light evaporated milk. They are made from a sweet batter that is cooked on a hot griddle, a special frying pan with small round "wells". They are best served hot, and often eaten plain. Nowadays, you can find a variety of different flavors in Hong Kong such as green tea, chocolate, black sesame and taro. It is one of the most popular “street snacks” in Hong Kong.
ReplyDeletePut chai pudding(Put Chai Ko)is my favorite dessert from Hong Kong. It is actually a soft and sweet pudding cake, that usually form a shape in a tiny little bowl. Put Chai Pudding is made with steamed sugar and rice flour.Some Put chai pudding are added red beans and some are added white sugar. That's why it usually come with either red or white in color. Put chai pudding is a healthy and tasty dessert!
